About Anthony
Anthony has a very rich history in Tap Dance and has worked many year to earn an excellent performance, judge, and convention teaching reputation. Early in his career Anthony spent 3 month on the French Riviera Opening shows for the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Natalie Cole, and Stevie Wonder. Then in 1997, after taking over the role of the “Enforcer” for original performer Drew Kaluski, Anthony performed in NYC at the Union Square Theatre in the show Tap Dogs. He then went on to over 1000 performances, plus appearances on MTV, Regis, and Good Morning America. In 2005 Anthony went back to the show to perform in Rebooted opening Chicago and Detroit.
Not everyone knows this, but, Monday nights are DARK in Theatre. That means - Day Off! During the week Anthony meet Dance Studio Owners at the stage door of Tap Dogs. On Sundays after 2 shows, and Mondays, our one day off, Anthony would go to local dance studios and teach Master Classes. Some of those studios Anthony still teachers for today and still has Contact with. One Notable studio I have traveled to for 9 years in a row is Kathy’s Studio of Dance in Seattle, WA.
For many year Anthony’s favorite thing has been to teach. Choreography has always been a strong suit for him. He enjoys creating choreography that promotes a strong technical foundation. Anthony has been seen at NADAA, PDTA, DEA, NYDE, WILD, Dance Teacher Magazine Summer Conference, 5 years on summer tour with Hoctor’s Dance Caravan, among many more. This is still and will always be Anthony’s favorite thing to do with his ability to tap dance. Teach!
In 2005, after many requests for more material by teachers that have taken class with Anthony, he created Dance4teachers.com - DVD master classes for teachers. Lots of material, for all tap and Jazz (Bethany LoCascio) levels. Combos, across the floor, Cannons, Phases, Cross Rhythms, and more - This series was such a hit it inspired the sister company Dance4students.com - DVD dance classes to help students practice at home. These are not to take the place of dance class, but to unsure proper practice techniques when the student is alone at home not under the watchful eye of their studio teacher.
After Tap Dogs many people wondered why I did not move to NYC or L.A. where I could teach. I choose to live in San Jose, CA. I felt I could still teach Nationally, properly educate local dance students, and try to unite the dance studio industry all at the same time. After 6 years, and the help of computer Guru Dave Hodges, I have taught Nationally for almost 10 years, I have taught locally for almost 7 years, and in March 2007 I started my drive to simplify, stream line, and unite the Dance Studio industry. In March 2007 I became the CEO & Founder of Danceregister.com and the site was launched. This is the Inter Net’s First Gated Social Networking Community for Dance!
Other notable credits include the two published magazine articles. On Tap “Old Dog Learns New Tricks”, and Studio Beat Magazine “Is My Space Your Space?”He has also been seen on many occasions in Dance Teacher Magazine, & Dance Spirit Magazine-Including the Ask an Expert feature. Anthony is very proud to be a part of the national dance community and wants to truly change it for the better in a grand scale. He is thankful for everyones support over the last 35 years and is elated about the next 35.
